These Boots are Made for Walkin'

What's Christopher Walken's favorite kind of foot wear?
Boots. Cause they're made for him!
Bahahaha. I made up that up. My boyfriend doesn't think it's funny but what does he know?
This was basically my Georgia uniform when I was home for the holidays: jeans, t-shirt, cowboy boots, and a sweater. My mom has got an excellent collection of winter wear (which I find entertaining considering she lives in a place that doesn't have winter that long). She also has an AMAZING collection of fantastic jewelry - especially lots of turquoise. This necklace is one of my faves that she has. Just wait until you see the other pictures I have in store for you of her massive collection! I can't wait!

Urban Cowgirl in the Concrete Jungle

Today I was running late for my eye appointment. So that meant an quick, easy outfit, 5-minute-face, and 5-minute-photo-shoot. I love this dress because it makes me think of my first year in Korea. The moms at my job got me a gift card and I bought this dress with it. It's a great little black dress with personality - the blue cheetah print gives it a nice texture. I paired it with my beloved cowboy boots and yes, I did put brown and black together. I never really got the whole "don't match brown and black together" thing. They're both neutral and if the outfit looks good, it looks good.

I also am crazy about these boots. Every girl should own a pair of cowboy boots, even if you're not a Georgia girl! Cowboy boots make me feel sexy - you can't help but sashay a little bit in 'em. But they don't make me feel overdressed and they don't kill my feet walking around all day. I think styling cowboy boots can be tricky for some folks. I would say as long as you stay away from it looking like a costume,  it instantly gives an outfit an extra pow! So I never wear too much denim, plaid, Native-American-inspired jewelry, kerchiefs, hats, or bolos.

Happy hump day, y'all!
