1 Sequin Top: 4 Ways to Wear for New Year's

When I think of New Year's Eve fashion I think of sequins and silver and gold, don't you? And of course black blazers, leather leggings, red lipstick and pointy heels all dress it up.
I couldn't decide which outfit to show y'all; all I knew was that I was definitely wearing this tank top - so I figured I'd just show you all of them and let you be the judge! Which is your favorite look?
Also, you can also check out two previous sequin looks here and here
What are you wearing for New Years?

The Huntsman and Her Dog

Here's my first post in America!!! I am so so happy to be home with my family, my friends, and my fur babies. I'm also excited to be able to show you a few winter looks!

Because I don't have any winter-appropriate clothing in Singapore, I've been borrowing a lot of clothes from my mom's beautifully organized walk-in closet. It's pretty much perfection because she's the same size as me, has exceptional taste (who did you think I got my taste from??) and it challenges me to explore new styles I wouldn't have picked out for myself.

My mom got this blazer at a consignment shop back in the 90's when consignment stores weren't the thing they are today (like perfectly curated vintage boutiques or Plato's Closet). She said that even when she bought the blazer it was already probably a decade old. And now 25+ years later, this jacket has stood the test of time - in style and in quality. I absolutely love the 1940's British Huntsman vibe it has. The tweed, the pockets, the tailored sleeves and how it cinches perfectly in the waist - sublime.

To keep the hunting vibe going, I wore my amazing riding boots, a little horn pin, a bird pin, and then my very own hunting dog!

This is Ricky, one of the three loves of my life, my puppies. He's a rescue dog that's part Jack Russell and boy, does he love to hunt! I'm actually surprised at how docile and calm he is in these photos. All three of my dogs have distinct personalities; Ricky is the sweet, sensitive one that nuzzles his face into mine and barks to get extra affection. I am eating it all up!

I can't wait to show you more winter and holiday looks while I'm in Georgia. Hope you're having just as relaxing and happy holiday break as I am!

I've Got Nothing to Hide (Blog Give-Away!)

When Vedette Shapewear contacted me to do a blog post styling their pieces, I was so excited! I love lingerie-inspired pieces as I'm a sucker for anything ultra-feminine. And what fashionista gal wouldn't wanna add some extra va-va-voom to their wardrobe?

I gotta be honest, when I first pulled my Aimee bodysuit out of the packaging, I was a little apprehensive because the suit looked so tiny. But that's the cool thing about it - it's got some magic material that's crazy stretchy and durable. Once I slid into it, it fit fantastic and made me feel very smooth. It hugs my body really well without being uncomfortably tight. And maybe this was just in my head, but I felt like it made my posture better. Just how heels naturally makes you stand straighter, so did the shape wear.

I paired the gorgeous, creamy bodysuit with my wool blazer and dressy tweed shorts. The blazer and color palette is a little severe for me, but the suit gives the outfit a feminine, softer touch and the shorts worn with tights show that this outfit isn't for the office. This is something I would wear to a date with my boyfriend or maybe out wine tasting with the girls.

I did the photo shoot with the beautiful and talented Alla Ponomareva. She's great to work with because she has a great eye for such attention to detail and she's so calm (she could have been a scuba instructor but luckily, she's putting her talents to better use). We did the shoot on top of a skyscraper in the middle of the city. It had such a fantastic view of the city and the wind really added to the photos.

Not only has this experience been exciting for me, but it can be exciting for you, too!! Vedette is kindly sponsoring a give-away for my blog and 3 lucky winners will be able to pick out their own shapewear from their Sensuale line.

I Wanna Be Formal, But I'm Here to Party, Too*

*Business on the top, party on the bottom!

Yesterday I was in a rush to get out the door. All I knew was that I was going to be wearing jeans because my dress pants were dirty and also because well... you know...
Technically I don't think I'm supposed to be wearing jeans when teaching so I figured I'd wear a blazer to look more professorial. And then a blouse, too because it always seems to be so warm in the classrooms and if I had to take off that professorial blazer, I didn't want to look like one of the students. Basically, I figure if everything else about my outfit gave me the appearance of being well-dressed, maybe no one will noticed I was actually wearing jeans.

I didn't even mean to plan it this way, but apparently this blazer just loves hot pink.  I grabbed this blouse to wear with jeans because I know it looks luxe. A friend with (expensive) great taste gave it to me during a clothing swap. It's made of beautiful, light-weight material (had to wear my beloved cami underneath it) and the color is off the charts. The only problem is, it's a little boxy and I always forget about that. I think next time I'm going to either tie it at the belt-line or tuck it in.

Lately, I've been pretty lazy when it comes to make-up. Clean skin, bronzer, mascara and lipstick and that's it. But this day I put a little bit more effort into it and dang, now I remember. THAT'S why folks love make-up so much. It makes ya look pretty darn good! I'm also trying something new with my eyebrows. I can't tell if I like it or not yet. What do y'all think? (Or do you even notice?)

A pair of my favorite earrings! They're cupcakes!
