Day II in Medan, Indonesia

Here's the second part of my quick little trip over in Indonesia last week. If you don't already know, Indonesia is a Muslim country. Most of the women cover their hair and all women dress conservatively.   I'm glad I planned on covering up when exploring because we attracted a LOT of attention walking around. But most of the attention was from really lovely Indonesians that were just curious about us. We got to chitchat and learn about life where they're from.

We did most of our walking on day two so I brought out the full coverage, in a manner of speaking. This cotton maxi dress from H&M is one of my all-time favorite purchases. I practically have been living non-stop in this thing since I brought it home; it's so versatile and so comfy in Singaporean (or Indonesian) heat! In fact, I loved it so much, I bought it in blue.

This kimono is also from H&M, near my work (probably the biggest temptation in my life! And I usually don't show a lot of self-restraint in there). I kept seeing it in the window and could not get it out of my head. Eventually, I just bit the bullet and bought it. I just love the airy, mint ease to it.

What do you think about the kimono trend this spring?

  1. Chic and casual <3 The mix of blues is perfect. Love the contrast with the mint wall in that one photo!
