These Boots are Made for Walkin'

What's Christopher Walken's favorite kind of foot wear?
Boots. Cause they're made for him!
Bahahaha. I made up that up. My boyfriend doesn't think it's funny but what does he know?
This was basically my Georgia uniform when I was home for the holidays: jeans, t-shirt, cowboy boots, and a sweater. My mom has got an excellent collection of winter wear (which I find entertaining considering she lives in a place that doesn't have winter that long). She also has an AMAZING collection of fantastic jewelry - especially lots of turquoise. This necklace is one of my faves that she has. Just wait until you see the other pictures I have in store for you of her massive collection! I can't wait!

My Favorite New Thing and I Don't Know What To Call It

This jacket, duster, long vest, thing is amazing. When I pulled it off the rack in the thrift store I was pleading, please let this fit me and my anglican arms… (Asians are typically so petite!) I've found other extraordinary pieces in Singapore thrift stores but many of them do not fit. It's particularly exciting thrift store shopping in Singapore because you might find a traditional piece from India, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan…

The fabric alone caught my eye; it's a beautiful raw silk where you can see different color threads interwoven together to  create beautiful texture and dimension. And then the silhouette! It's like nothing I've ever seen. If someone know what it is, please tell me! It reminds me of a cross between an ao dai (traditional Vietnamese outfit) or a cheongsam/qipao (traditional Chinese dress) but I've never seen either of those quite like this. It's such a unique piece and I've been wearing it nonstop so many different ways. I can't wait to show you the other styles!

Polka Dots & Hearts in Haw Par Villa

Yesterday my friend, Prianka and I went to check out Haw Par Villa in Singapore. IT. IS. AWESOME. It's this kitschy park that has elaborate statues & scenes from Chinese religious stories. It took a million dollars to build in the 30's but you can now explore the surprisingly large grounds for the low, low price of free! These pictures don't even do it justice on how weird, crazy, and cool it was. If you ever get the chance, check it out! I can't wait to go back to take even more pictures.

You are lucky because this post is two for the price of one - my style as well as Prianka's. I'd say in a lot of ways we favor similar things, especially on this day. We didn't even plan to be all match-matchy  but it worked out well!
