1 Sequin Top: 4 Ways to Wear for New Year's

When I think of New Year's Eve fashion I think of sequins and silver and gold, don't you? And of course black blazers, leather leggings, red lipstick and pointy heels all dress it up.
I couldn't decide which outfit to show y'all; all I knew was that I was definitely wearing this tank top - so I figured I'd just show you all of them and let you be the judge! Which is your favorite look?
Also, you can also check out two previous sequin looks here and here
What are you wearing for New Years?

Belly Dancer

I got this crop top at a clothing swap and have been wearing it ever since; I'm obsessed. I want it in every color. First off, I love that it has a high neckline so I don't have to worry about showing belly skin and cleavage. Secondly, I love how high it ties because it makes the focus on my shoulders. Since moving to Singapore, I have been busting my butt swimming every morning to firm up a little. After the first few months of seeing noticeable results, it's kinda slowed down. Except my shoulders and arms; I'm starting to get traps as big as the Hulk and honestly, I'm okay with that!

When I wore this crop top out the other day, a friend was commenting how much she loved that I wore crop tops because… and then she stopped herself. I started laughing because I knew what she had intended on saying. I encouraged her to just go out and say it, I wasn't offended. She basically wanted to say it was refreshing to see a non-model size girl rock a crop. But I told her and I'll tell you, too - YOU can wear one! Regardless of what size you are.

To "get away" with wearing a crop top and not having a 6-pack, I wore this high waisted (and elastic!) maxi skirt. Have you noticed it has SEQUINS AND MIRRORS ON IT??? I'm sparkly and shiny. But it doesn't stop there, my friend. THERE IS A BELL ON THE WAIST TIE. I sparkle, shine and JINGLE. The sequins keep falling off so there's a trail behind me whenever I wear it. It's sad that I'm shedding part of the specialness of the skirt (even though I'll still wear and love it without) but I do like the idea of my own glamorous bread crumbs, sorta speak.

What are you wearing with your crop tops this summer?

New Year's Eve Sequins

This is my New Year's Eve skirt that I wore to a party a little while ago. Last New Year's Eve, I had a reunion with one of my good friends from university, Alicia. She came into town, we got all dolled up, went out to my favorite bar and then after 30 minutes (and taking these pictures), I threw up due to food poisoning. My new years' resolution last year was not to throw up in a taxi on the way back home. Hopefully this year will not be as pitiful!
However badly this skirt's track record might be, I still love wearing it every time. This time I decided to go a wee bit less va-va-voom and pair it with a slouchy oatmeal sweater. This sweater gave the overall look a delicious effortlessness - something I always seem to try and strive for but feel like I don't always succeed at.

I loved loved loved wearing this outfit not only for it's ease-factor but because I felt sexy without it being too much or too tight. We ate a huge meal that night and my baggy sweater did the trick to hide all the roast and red velvet cake intake. I decided not to wear any necklaces so that I could show off the skin of my neck/shoulder area - something I normally don't really think about. But it paid off - my boyfriend kept saying how much he loved my "creamy skin". Hehe.

I kept the rest of the outfit clean with simple studs, black accessories, and understated make-up. I let the skirt do all the talking!

Crossing my fingers that I will be able to enjoy New Year's celebrations this year! Not sure what I'm going to wear this year. What are you going to wear?
