Mermaid Glamour (The Best Skirt Ever)

These are three articles of clothing that I'm obsessed with: the fuchsia t-shirt, cheetah-print flats and THIS SKIRT!!! This t-shirt is one of those weird ones that's got magic; kind like the jeans in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It seems to match everything, is never wrinkly or stained and always looks flattering on me. Then, of course, we have the cheetah-print flats which are just a classic. If you don't have any, you must go out and get you some NOW. They are a neutral so they are so versatile and they instantly make you look more classy and put together. Classics are classics for a reason, amiright?

But let's get down to business. And let me ramble about this skirt because it's probably the most favorite thing I own. I found it at my local Goodwill and instantly fell in love. The color, the pleats, the shimmer and flow, the maxi-ness of it all. My mom instantly hated it. Granted, this was about 3 years ago before the maxi craze really was on trend. But she tried to talk me out of it. Just like she talked me out of a ostrich leather clutch another time. And guess what, next season ostrich leather was all over the scene. What I'm saying is, when it comes to thrift store shopping, trust your gut. Things you find won't always be in fashion. If you love it, get it. Wear it. If it becomes a trend, great! If it doesn't, who cares? It makes you happy.
I must say though, my mom usually is right on par when it comes to a critical thrift store shopping eye. She's the one who taught me all I know!

I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night, so it's a messy bun and the trifecta of perfect, simple pieces.
What's your favorite article of clothing?

[Hello, 이웃 사람 (neighbor) are you talking to me?]

Shirt: Danskin (thrift store) | Skirt: Goodwill | Shoes: Chinese Laundry (Goodwill) | Belt: Goodwill | Earrings: gift | Watch: Citizen eco-drive | Ring: gift

  1. I love the colour combo! I work at a retail store part time and find that people are overly concerned about their pieces 'matching'. They're also super hesitant to mix two bold colours in one outfit...so instead opt for black. zzzzz. Boring. I should just show them this pic!
ps. love the blog. Keep it up!
